Shiyu is an open-source desktop app for intensive reading of English articles and books, aimed at English-language learners. It offers AI-assisted annotation of unfamiliar words and sentences, an AI-generated outline of an article's structure, text-to-speech, and review of saved vocabulary using the FSRS spaced-repetition algorithm. All reading data stays on the user's device, and the AI features require the user's own DeepSeek- or OpenAI-compatible API key.
