Smart Rename is a free, open-source Obsidian plugin that fixes a subtle renaming problem: normally, renaming a note also silently rewrites the display text of every link pointing to it, even inside sentences that were written around the old title. Smart Rename keeps the reader-facing link text intact while still correctly updating the underlying link target. It's for Obsidian users with heavily cross-referenced vaults who don't want renaming a note to quietly break the readability of sentences elsewhere.
