What fits

Curboxstrong · 90

Curbox is a free, open-source Android app blocker designed for digital wellbeing, with the ability to block chosen apps and even target specific distracting parts like reels/shorts feeds. It also supports scheduled focus windows and multiple unlock difficulty options, aiming to make blocks hold reliably rather than being a lightweight time-limiter.

Best for: Free, open-source app blocking on Android with focus scheduling and strong unlock friction.

Partly fits

FireWall Blockspartial · 62

It blocks internet access for chosen apps on Android (firewall-level), but the core request is blocking app access itself rather than network access.

Won’t cover: Blocks app internet access rather than fully preventing app access and usage.

Athena Firewallpartial · 56

It offers per-app firewall control on Android (rooted or non-rooted), which can restrict behavior, but it’s not primarily an app-launch blocker.

Won’t cover: Provides per-app network control instead of a dedicated app-access blocker.
